Not Alone

I lost hope after my husband died. I began to sink into complete apathy, I started drinking and going out with my friends to cover up the pain. I would drop my children off at my mothers house and sometimes wouldn’t come back to pick them up for days. I quit going to work and eventually was fired from my job. That was right around the time I started to use meth. It seemed like the world was a better place all the sudden but, everyone I loved was slipping away from me and I was slipping away from myself.

My parents would try and talk with me and comfort me. Linda, they would say; you need help. I knew what I was doing though, things were going to be ok I’d tell them.  It wasn’t ok though. On the day of my youngest daughter’s birthday I overdosed and almost died. My parents rushed me to the hospital and shortly after I went to a Drug Rehab Center that changed my life forever.

I now have my darling girls back and I’ll never again go down that lonely road of addiction I was once on.
