In the mature adult age group the study found that 171,000 adults ages 26 years of age and older had experoenced binge drinking during the previous month in Hawaii. In fact the study actually found that 74,000 people in Hawaii suffered from alcohol dependence or abuse during the year of the study. Further, 22,000 people ranging in ages between 18 and 25 were likewise found to be abusing or dependent on alcohol in Hawaii as well. In the mature adult category there were 45,000 people in Hawaii who reportedly were dependent on alcohol during the study. This is too much.
