Over 1,800 individuals were admitted to Nevada drug rehabs for cocaine abuse in 2004 and 2005. Although powder cocaine is obtainable in certain parts of the state, crack cocaine is the major cocaine-related concern for the state. Crack is easily accessible in Nevada, particularly in inner-city areas. Street gangs are predominately responsible for selling crack in these areas. Poorer neighborhoods in these areas headquarters are used by these criminals as bases for their trade. 59 ½ kilos of cocaine were confiscated in federal seizures in Nevada in 2006.
1,119 admissions to Nevada drug rehabs were reportedly for heroin abuse. The Mexican black tar variety of heroin is the one most commonly found in Nevada. Heroin is smuggled into the state under the direction of Mexican drug trafficking organizations. The distribution within the state is largely directed by these criminal groups as well. There are small amounts of Mexican brown heroin found in certain areas of Nevada. Just over 12 kilos of heroin were confiscated in the state in 2006.

Nevada drug rehab facilities admitted 6,660 persons for methamphetamine/ amphetamine abuse from 2004-2005. These numbers reflect the fact that methamphetamine is the most prevalent illicit drug in the state. Major methamphetamine manufacturing sites in Mexico and California supply much of the methamphetamine smuggled into Nevada. Mexican criminal groups oversee the operation of these manufacturing facilities and the transfer of methamphetamine into states like Nevada. Small amounts of methamphetamine are produced within the state. These toxic labs typically produce only small amounts suited to personal consumption. The number of seizures of meth labs in Nevada has decreased in recently years; 125 seizures in 2003, 52 in 2005 and 30 in 2006. Federal drug seizures conducted in Nevada in 2006 yielded approximately 55 kilos of methamphetamine.
Marijuana abuse accounted for over 3,000 entries to Nevada drug rehab programs from 2004-2005. Marijuana that enters Nevada from outside the state comes mainly from California. Mexican drug trafficking groups control the majority of the smuggling activities for the state. Some marijuana is raised within the state. Criminals cultivating marijuana in the state are using more advanced techniques to yield a more potent product. Just over 3 kilos of marijuana were confiscated in Nevada in 2006.

Club drugs are available throughout the state, but primarily in metropolitan areas like Las Vegas. Ecstasy, GHB, and LSD are often used in clubs and at rave parties. Federal drug seizures in Nevada resulted in the confiscation of 16,150 dosage units of ecstasy in 2005 and 4,848 dosage units in 2006.
