Between the years of 2002 and 2004, approximately 272 individuals were admitted to Wyoming drug rehab programs for cocaine abuse and addiction. In fact, methamphetamine arrests have surpassed arrests for all other drugs in Wyoming and these numbers are still on the rise. Data indicates that federal law enforcement agents seized 8.6 kilograms of methamphetamine in 2006. This number is nearly 8 times that of the cocaine seizures made in Wyoming in 2006. The Wyoming law enforcement noted a direct correlation between violent crimes, domestic violence, and child abuse with methamphetamine abuse in the state. This has definitely heightened law enforcement’s concern with methamphetamine abuse throughout the state.

There was an outstanding 2,810 individuals admitted to Wyoming drug rehab programs from 2002 to 2004 for marijuana abuse. Aside from being a widely abused drug, it is also grown and distributed throughout Wyoming. A high percentage of marijuana being brought into Wyoming is from Mexico, British Columbia, and Canada.
